If you’ve got an order in for the 2025 Ford Expedition and are wondering whether it will come with the new device holder, you’re not alone. There’s been plenty of speculation about when this feature will start appearing on production units, and we’ve gathered the latest updates to help clear things up.

At the Ford Embargo event, it was confirmed that the device holder would be a late availability item. That means it won’t be included on the early production Expeditions. So if your order is already scheduled—or if you receive a build date soon—your vehicle will not include the device holder.

While not all media outlets emphasized this point, we made sure to highlight it in our coverage to help customers avoid confusion or disappointment. Interestingly, the device holder still isn’t listed as part of any standard or optional packages in the current order guide. That lack of official placement suggests it could be introduced as a Job 2 feature. In Ford’s production cycle, “Job 2” typically marks the point when late availability items start showing up—but that transition hasn't been detailed yet.

When Might We See It?

A spokesman at Ford indicated that the device holder is scheduled to become available later in the 2025 model year and will be optional across all trim levels. However, since it’s not in the order guide yet, and Job 2 hasn’t been defined, we don’t have a clear date.

If your Expedition is already scheduled for production, don’t expect to see the device holder included since it will be a stand-alone option and not standard on any trim level.
