Bronco Off Roadeo - Best Experience on Dirt

timothybartz

Since the launch of the 2021 Ford Bronco, Ford has been giving owners a free pass to their off road school called Bronco Off Roadeo. When you purchase a Ford Bronco or Ford Bronco Sport, Ford will pay for one person to attend one of 5 locations in a all day off road experience.

In the morning, drivers will get a look at the Ford Bronco heritage going back to the 1966 Ford Bronco as well as instruction on trail etiquette and basic off road terms. It doesn't take long before drivers are picking their Ford Bronco to drive for the day. Ford provides the Bronco, no need to bring your own Bronco. Then out on the trail the group of about 8-10 Broncos head with one to two professional trail guides.

Throughout the morning, the guides will give instruction through their walkies placed in each Bronco and occasionally stopping and giving instruction from outside the Broncos. They teach the drivers about the approach, breakover, and departure angles to help keep the drivers from tearing up the front, rear, and underbody of your Bronco. They also teachyou about finding a good line on the trail and how going over a rock might be better than avoiding one.

The trail guides go over the hero buttons which include front and rear lockers, stabilizer bar disconnect, and trail turn assist. Instructing you when is the best time to use each of these buttons on the dash. They also talk about and have you experience the different G.O.A.T. modes which stands for Go Over Any-type Terrain. Every Bronco has several of the GOAT modes but not every Bronco will have all the GOAT modes so they tell you what mode would work in different terrains based on your Bronco.

The morning concludes with a lunch at the base camp or on the trail if you decide to go to the Moab, Utah location which is where my Wife and I attended. Bronco Off Roadeo is good with food allergies so make sure you let them know about any of your allergies when registering. After a good lunch and a restroom break, the trails don't have restrooms, it's back out onto the trails.

The afternoon will have see more advanced trails with difficult obstacles where those front lockers will come in handy. Most of the afternoon instruction with done by walkie since you have the basics down. Enjoy the afternoon full of fun trails and beautiful views. The day will usually conclude with a session on recovery methods and equipment you might want to purchase for your Bronco.

The day ends back at Basecamp for pictures, Bronco Merchandise and fun stories while having a camp dinner and drinks by the campfire. I can say that my Bronco Off Roadeo experience is one I will never forget. And I would have never thought that I would fall in love with off-roading like I have thanks to Bronco Off Roadeo.

If you purchase a Bronco or Bronco Sport, you must go to Bronco Off Roadeo, you won't regret it. But be warned that you will want to take your Bronco off-roading after attending. There is a great Bronco community waiting for you to join them. It's a community that is very welcoming and loves to help those new to off-roading. Find a local Bronco club on Facebook or join Bronco Nation to find groups to join in the adventure. Also, go to a Bronco Super Celebration event to meet other Bronco enthusiasts like yourself. And I'll see you there.
